The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of project management experience, strong organizational skills, emotional intelligence, communication skills, relationship building experience, and a basic understanding of free-to-play mobile gaming. Experience in game development and/or portfolio management is a plus.

We are seeking an experienced Project manager / Business operations Manager to support our games business with focus on new games and portfolio management. In this role you would have an operational ownership of our new game decision-making and investment process known internally as “Flightpath”. You would facilitate our new games development, making sure new game teams are adhering to the agreed process and investment budgets, while supporting them by helping remove obstacles. 
This is a pivotal strategic role for Rovio’s games business, where you will play a key role in supporting games portfolio management. As a key member of Rovio’s Strategy Team, your efforts will help new game teams to better succeed in their journey to craft and develop new hit games. You would also be part of Rovio’s Portfolio Management Group who owns the Rovio level games portfolio including capital allocation and investment decisions.

What you will be responsible for:

    • Operational ownership of Rovio’s new game decision-making and investment process known internally as “Flightpath”
    • Track development of new game projects including agreed investments, KPIs and timelines to identify possible issues and solutions
    • Provide tools for guidance and coaching to new game projects to navigate the Flightpath process in terms of investment requests, KPI measurements, timelines, etc. 
    • Support new game teams on their investment proposals to Portfolio Management Group to ensure the proposal includes all requested information
    • Make sure that new game teams are stick to objectives, budget allocation, KPIs, timing and deliverables
    • Participate in the Portfolio Management Group meetings as facilitator
    • Monitor budget spending, progress and focus of the new game teams, making sure they are following the plan
    • Identify potential obstacles in the way that could slow down or block the new game team’s progress and support them with potential solutions
    • Collect feedback from stakeholders to actively develop Flightpath process further
    • Regularly report to the Portfolio Management Group on the progress and bottlenecks, helping the projects to move forward while staying on target 

Who we think will do great in this role has:

    • 5+ years of project management (e.g. management consulting, project management office, portfolio management)
    • Strong organisational skills
    • Ability to oversee budget expenditure and roadmap delivery
    • Strong emotional intelligence, communication skills and relationship building experience
    • An understanding of the deeper reasons why a process isn't working, and are able to roll out effective improvements
    • High degree of self motivation and initiative taking
    • Basic understanding of free-to-play mobile gaming
