Unreal Engine Engineer (Switch)

We're looking for an Unreal Engine Engineer to support an established Unreal Engine game as it moves through console development and ongoing live-game support. You'll work hands-on with Unreal Engine and C++, helping port and adapt systems for Nintendo Switch, troubleshoot platform-specific issues, and optimize performance across CPU, GPU, memory, and loading.

This is a 3-month freelance engagement, working 40 hours per week, and is fully remote within Brazil. We're looking for an engineer with 3+ years of professional experience, console development experience, and a strong preference for candidates with Nintendo Switch and multiplayer game experience.

What you'll be doing:

• Port and adapt existing Unreal Engine systems for Nintendo Switch.
• Investigate and resolve platform-specific bugs and compatibility issues.
• Profile and optimize CPU, GPU, memory, and loading performance.
• Work with graphics and scalability settings to meet console performance targets.
• Support integration of Nintendo platform features and requirements.
• Debug issues across gameplay, rendering, UI, input, online systems, and platform services.
• Collaborate closely with QA to reproduce, investigate, and resolve platform-specific issues.
• Support builds and overall platform/release readiness.

What we're looking for:

• 3+ years professional experience as a Game/Software Engineer.
• Professional experience with Unreal Engine and C++.
• Experience developing or porting games for console platforms.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in an existing codebase.
• Understanding of game performance, profiling, and optimization.
• Comfortable working with an established game rather than developing systems exclusively from scratch.
• Nintendo Switch development or porting experience is highly desirable.

Nice to have:

• Previous Switch 2 development experience.
• Experience supporting live games and working within an actively maintained codebase.
• Experience with online or multiplayer games.
• Experience with console certification and platform requirements.
• Experience with Unreal profiling and optimization tools.
• Experience working on console ports or cross-platform titles.
