Job description

Overview

1047 Games began with the simple principle that people should have fun while making great games. Bucking convention and driven by a passion to create the ultimate gaming experience, Ian Proulx and Nicholas Bagamian founded 1047 Games in 2017 in their Stanford dorm room. Their love for arena shooters of the past drove them to create Splitgate, a unique sci-fi first-person shooter that adds portal guns to upend the genre.

What started as two computer science majors putting portals into a first-person shooter for a project demo has evolved into a VC-backed company which has raised more than $120MM in funding.

At 1047 Games, you’ll find a permanently remote, dedicated team of top-tier talent from some of the world’s biggest gaming and tech companies who share our founders’ vision. Grit, ingenuity, a desire to have fun, and a start up mentality define our crew. We are currently working on a brand new shooter in the Splitgate universe.

  • Work closely with other departments to champion cross-departmental efforts on behalf of Engineering and Technical Art
  • Identify and communicate all roadblocks or bottlenecks that may prevent teams from achieving established goals within their sprints/milestones
  • Gather estimates and work with developers to evaluate feature complexity and risk
  • Provide data to ensure that project goals, objectives, milestones and deliverable requirements are realistic and achievable
  • Establish and communicate production estimates, including estimates for when targets will be hit
  • Work with the product owners and team leads to produce realistic schedules and milestone plans for the technical engineering teams

What you will need to succeed:

  • 5+ years' experience in technical project management
  • Demonstrated ability driving complex projects
  • Track record of time-management skills with the ability to focus on priorities, manage change and deliver against agreed deadlines

  • Experience with scheduling tools, managing conflict, risk analysis and mitigation
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals
  • Capable of multitasking and managing several important items at once, without allowing anything to be lost in the process
  • Must be able to effectively communicate risks and obstacles both to managed team members, as well as Studio Management
  • Strong understanding and experience in the software development process
  • Willing to commit and take responsibility for timelines and deliverables
  • Flexibility, support and willing to manage the impact of change
