Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Vehicle AI Programmer to help develop Vehicle-focused AI solutions for one or more studio projects.
As an AI Programmer at Lucid your main responsibilities will be to help investigate, design, direct, implement and debug a variety of AI features and frameworks.
Ideally, you will have broad AI programming knowledge with demonstrable experience developing vehicle AI across a variety of game worlds and multiplayer environments.
What you’ll do:
Collaborate with Design to set the vision and identify requirements.
Design and implement reliable, maintainable, and bug-free code.
Follow best practices, development processes, and coding standards.
Take ownership of the technical design and development of AI features.
Bring technical expertise and experience to help solve challenging problems.
What we’re looking for from you:
Excellent C/C++ knowledge.
Experience working in a games studio.
Experience developing AI awareness, decision making, behaviour, or navigation systems.
Strong understanding of 3D math (linear algebra, vectors, quaternions)
Shipped multiple titles.
Unreal Engine experience.
Multiplayer experience.
Experience with dedicated server network model (Desirable)
Experience interfacing AI systems with vehicle physics or driving models
An enthusiasm and passion for games.
What can you expect during the Interview Process:
Our interview process typically takes 2–4 weeks depending on availability and is usually made up of 3 stages:
1st stage (45 minutes): An informal chat to discuss your experience, portfolio, and working history relating to the position with members of our Engineering leadership team and our Head of Talent. In return, we will provide a full overview of the role, life at the studio, and answer any questions you may have.
Second interview (45 minutes): A second interview with our Technical Directors and Head of Talent. This stage will focus on technical competency, career challenges, aspirations and team experience. You will also have the opportunity to discuss the project vision and team structure in more detail.
Final interview (30 minutes): A final interview with our Studio Head and senior leadership team. This will be an opportunity to learn more about the studio culture, long-term vision, and the things that make the studio unique.
