Robux is Roblox’s virtual currency and it enables players to participate in our virtual economy and creators to earn a living. The Economy Platform team owns the systems powering these transactions, ensuring our global economy remains healthy, vibrant, and trusted. You will work on robust, extensible, and flexible systems involving purchasing, pricing, and payout systems that process billions of transactions and pay out hundreds of millions of dollars annually.
You Have
- A passion for working on highly available and large-scale backend systems in production
- Knowledge of REST, API design patterns, and scalable containerized systems and microservices
- A data-driven focus on quality metrics and monitoring
- 1-3 years of experience in Software Engineering / Computer Science
You Will
- Have direct impact on the future direction of one of the largest virtual economies in the world and the largest social platform for play
- Develop highly scalable, resilient systems for our creators to optimize their revenue within Roblox
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product teams to identify and introduce new economic models
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.
Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
