Role Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Client Lead who will be responsible for leading the engineering direction of a core product that drives player engagement across our games portfolio.

You will own the technical roadmap for PuzzlePlay, working closely with Product, Design, QA and Commercial teams to prioritise and deliver new features and enhancements. As the engineering lead, you will directly manage a team of Developers, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture while maintaining engineering excellence.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll balance people management, technical decision-making, architecture, and delivery.

Puzzleplay
is Tripledot’s new player rewards platform, designed to make playing our games even more fun and engaging. By playing our casual, free to play mobile games, users can earn points, complete challenges, and win real prizes. It’s our way of giving back to players and rewarding them for doing what they already love. Puzzleplay is a key part of our growth strategy, combining smart engagement mechanics with high-quality game content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineering Leadership
    • Create a high-performing engineering culture focused on quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Set engineering standards, coding practices, and development processes.
    • Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure maintainable, scalable, and secure solutions.
  • Technical Delivery
    • Own the technical delivery of the PuzzlePlay roadmap from planning through to production.
    • Work closely with Product Managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
    • Remove delivery blockers and ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.
    • Balance delivery of new features with technical debt reduction and platform improvements.
  • Solution Design & Architecture
    • Lead the design and implementation of scalable front-end solution using React Native
    • Collaborate with backend engineers to define APIs and integration patterns.
    • Ensure applications are performant, secure, accessible, and maintainable.
    • Drive technical innovation and recommend improvements to architecture and tooling.
    • Maintain technical documentation and architectural standards.
  • Stakeholder management
    • Act as the engineering representative for PuzzlePlay across the wider business.
    • Translate technical concepts into clear business outcomes for non-technical stakeholders.
    • Manage delivery expectations, risks, and dependencies.
  • Engineering Excellence
    • Champion modern engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and observability.
    • Promote Agile delivery methodologies and continuous improvement.
    • Drive improvements in development velocity, code quality, and platform reliability.
    • Encourage knowledge sharing and continuous learning across the team.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  • 5+ years of experience as React Native Engineer
  • Solid understanding of mobile app architecture and best practices
  • 2+ years of proven experience leading and growing engineering teams, mentoring developers, and driving engineering team performance.
  • Knowledge of UI/UX design best practices for mobile applications
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and integrating mobile applications with backend services
  • Proficient understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Experience managing engineers, including coaching, performance management, and career development.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience with Expo framework, React Native Reanimated.
  • Experience within gaming, mobile gaming, or live service products.
  • Knowledge of incentive, rewards, promotions, loyalty, or player engagement platforms.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps, including deployment to App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and performance optimisation.
  • Understanding of analytics, telemetry, and data-driven product development.
