What you will do:
- Own and evolve the project QA strategy: quality gates, Definition of Ready/Done, release sign-off criteria.
- Lead manual testing for Unity client features: functional, regression, smoke, exploratory, and acceptance testing.
- Build sprint/release test plans, define risk-based priorities, and ensure coverage of critical user flows.
- Maintain QA artifacts and traceability: test cases, checklists, test scenarios, and requirements-to-tests mapping.
- Coordinate QA team execution: task distribution, progress tracking, quality reviews, and mentoring.
- Drive defect management lifecycle: triage, prioritization, root cause analysis, fix validation, and prevention actions.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Product, Design, and Analytics to identify quality risks early.
- Define automation scope and priorities, and guide implementation of client-side automation for Unity.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure reliable quality signals before release.
- Track and improve QA KPIs: defect leakage, reopen rate, flaky tests, pass rate, and feedback cycle time.
What we are looking for:
- 4+ years of experience in QA, including experience in a QA Lead (or senior-level ownership) role.
- Strong hands-on experience in manual testing of client applications (Unity/mobile game experience is a strong plus).
- Experience in automation testing (C# or another OOP language), including reviewing and guiding automation efforts.
- Experience with CI/CD practices (TeamCity/Jenkins/GitHub Actions) and test pipeline integration.
- Proven experience building test strategy and QA processes across sprint and release cycles.
- Experience with release quality ownership: regression scope definition, go/no-go recommendations, post-release validation.
- Solid test design skills: equivalence partitioning, boundary values, state transitions, and risk-based testing.
- Practical experience with bug tracking and test management tools, as well as clear stakeholder reporting.
- Experience in automation testing (C# or another OOP language), including reviewing and guiding automation efforts.
- Experience with CI/CD practices (TeamCity/Jenkins/GitHub Actions) and test pipeline integration.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to align cross-functional teams on quality goals.
Nice to have:
- Hands-on Unity automation experience for UI and gameplay flows (scene transitions, animations, addressables).
- Experience testing live-ops content and frequent content releases.
- Understanding of client-server contracts and end-to-end integration validation.
- Experience with Unity client performance/profiling test practices.
