Job Description

In 2023, it was announced that Massive Entertainment is leading the development of Tom Clancy's The Division 3. While we cannot unveil any details about the third entry in the series at this time, we are actively recruiting for the project.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Game Designer to join the team behind Tom Clancy’s The Division 3. In this role, you will drive the design and execution of key Social and Online features, while helping shape the foundations required to support the game as a live experience. You will combine leadership responsibilities with hands-on design work across systems and content, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary leads to create cohesive and engaging player experiences.

What you'll do

  • Lead the design and implementation of Social and Online features.
  • Drive the definition and development of the game’s live structure, helping establish the systems, workflows, and foundations required to support the game’s live activity at launch and beyond.
  • Collaborate on the creation and implementation of recurring live content and activities designed to support day-to-day player engagement.
  • Work hands-on with game systems and content, from concept and prototyping to implementation, iteration, and balancing.
  • Own and coordinate gameplay-related dependencies tied to third-party systems and services, including platform features such as trophies and other external integrations.
  • Support and mentor designers within the team, helping establish clear goals, maintain quality standards, and encourage collaboration and growth.
  • Partner closely with the other Design Leads and other disciplines to align priorities, assess risks, and deliver high-quality player experiences.
  • Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to manage scope, priorities, and deliverables throughout development.
  • Continuously iterate on features and content based on playtests, player behavior, and team feedback.

Qualifications

What you'll bring

  • Strong experience in game design, with significant contribution to AAA game development and at least one shipped title.
  • Experience designing and delivering online features and systems.
  • Strong understanding of social systems, group play, matchmaking flows, and player engagement mechanics.
  • Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on implementation and content creation.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to drive features from concept to final quality.
  • Ability to support and mentor a small group of team members.

Nice to have

  • Experience working on AAA live games or supporting live operations pipelines and recurring content delivery.
  • Affinity with community-driven development and player relationship considerations.
  • Familiarity with Tom Clancy’s The Division franchise.
