Company Description

Techland is one of the biggest video game companies in Poland, with over 30 years of experience in the gaming industry. From our studios in Wroclaw and Warsaw, we’ve built an international team of more than 500 talented professionals, all dedicated to pushing the boundaries of game development.

We’re known for creating iconic franchises like Call of Juarez and the zombie genre-defining Dying Light, which has been played by over 45 million players worldwide. With a focus on open-world action, storytelling, and community engagement, we’re committed to delivering unforgettable experiences to our players.

We’re constantly striving to improve, innovate, and take on new challenges. With ambitious plans for the future, we’re looking for passionate people to be part of this exciting journey.

Job Description

  • Build and direct high level feature roadmap in collaboration with the Core Team and Production to translate objectives into concrete features and plan the development roadmap.
  • Plan and drive the development of game features: set priorities, structure the team, assign design owners to topics, and assess seniority and future hiring needs (participating in the hiring process).
  • Design engaging, systemic content loops (e.g. seasonal arcs, events, limited-time modes) that are high in perceived player value while efficient to produce, reusing and remixing existing assets and mechanics wherever possible; set success metrics and iterate based on data and player behavior.
  • Create a framework for detailed designs and identify requirements together with co-leads, directors, and production.
  • Collaborate with the Game Design Team on prioritizing and assigning tasks, discussing progress, tackling setbacks, and finding solutions — while ensuring good communication with other teams, with the help of producers.
  • Mentor and coach game designers, supporting their growth in seniority and career development.
  • Champion your designs through the full development cycle — from conception through iteration to release and post-launch support — designing within the boundaries set by the Game Director and challenging them constructively when needed.
  • Support implementation of designed features in a structured way: prototyping, iteration, balancing, and delivery, adapting designs as needed along the way.
  • Identify improvements to workflows, tools, and designers' pipelines to increase efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Senior experience in game design, with at least 1 shipped AAA title as a Lead Game Designer or Senior Game Designer.
  • Strong grounding in systemic game design and long-term engagement/content loops (live service experience a plus).
  • Data literacy — comfortable defining KPIs and using live performance data to inform design decisions.
  • Structured, professional approach to game design and production methodologies.
  • Proactive, supportive attitude toward all members of the development team.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Very good command of English.
