The Job

WB Games is looking for a Junior Designer, Narrative to join the team that created Hogwarts Legacy.


We are looking for a visionary storyteller with a deep understanding of the Wizarding World. Applicants should be creative, self-motivated problem solvers who enjoy collaborating with other writers and designers to create immersive narrative experiences.

 

The Daily

  • Design, maintain and implement VO lines related to player action, engagement and choice throughout the game.
  • Craft compelling quests, satisfying dialogue, and rich stories that support the developer and project vision.
  • Champion narrative, thematic, and mechanical coherence across story and gameplay.
  • Ensure Wizarding World authenticity across the project.
  • Collaborate with writers, designers and the game director to champion story in design and provide narrative support for design elements, such as: story beat creation, game mechanics delivery, character profiles, character motivations, narrative feature design, player choices and player emotional journey as delivered through narrative during game development.

 

The Essentials

  • A degree in a related discipline, or adjacent field, is helpful.
  • A strong record of quality in writing and game design.
  • Previous experience in interactive storytelling, narrative design, and game writing.
  • Proven ability to create within an established franchise, authoring exciting new experiences that still feel authentic and tonally consistent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with standard game-development processes and workflows.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a cross-culture and multi-time-zone team.
  • Possess a deep literacy in games, film, literature, and television, and a love of fantasy.
  • Knowledge of the Wizarding World franchise is a definite plus.


Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in visual scripting languages like Unreal 5, Blueprints.
  • Experience with dialogue authoring systems like Articy.
