Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

The Gametech Innovation team is a specialized group of developers focused on empowering Gameloft’s game teams to create better games through innovative technological solutions. We focus on Unity and Unreal engines, developing tools and systems that span a wide range of game development needs.
As a Mid-Level Developer within the team, you will manage feature delivery and support the technical stability of our tools and systems, contributing to the full lifecycle of each solution.

What it means on a daily basis

• Own features or subsystems end-to-end, from benchmarking existing solutions and prototyping alternatives through to implementing and shipping the final tool to game teams
• Write maintainable, self-explanatory code in C++ and C# within Unreal and Unity engines
• Debug and profile tools and systems across engines and target platforms (console, PC, mobile) so they stay reliable in production
• Maintain and extend the team's CI/CD and build pipelines so new tool versions reach game teams continuously
• Use AI coding assistants in your daily workflow, experiment with new approaches and technologies, and propose the incremental improvements worth industrialising

What success will look like

In your first three months, you will be at ease in the team's codebase and delivering fixes and features on existing tools with limited guidance. From there, you will own a feature or subsystem end-to-end, you will propose improvements to tools and workflows on your own initiative and become a technical point of contact for the game teams we support.

Who you would be working with

You will be reporting to our Gametech Innovation Manager, and collaborate very closely with other Developers from the Gametech Innovation team across multiple studios worldwide, including Paris, Montreal, Bucharest, and others, offering opportunities to collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Day to day you will work with game programmers, technical artists and producers on Gameloft's game teams internationally.

Your recruitment journey

• First interview: A conversation to explore how the role aligns with your background and to address your main questions.
• Test: You will receive a short case study to complete.
• Second interview: You will meet members of our technical team to present your test and talk through your approach, reasoning, and methodologies in more depth.
• Final interview: You will meet a Hiring Manager to discuss your experience, vision, and how you approach game technology topics at a broader level.

Where this role can take you

This role can be a stepping stone toward a more senior position within the Gametech Innovation team, or toward specialising in a particular area such as engine, pipeline or platform technology. Internal training and mentoring from the team's senior developers are available, and internal mobility across teams and studios is possible through Gameloft's Talent Move programme.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Solid proficiency with Unreal Engine and/or Unity; and in C++ and C#
• Practical use of AI coding assistants in your day-to-day development work
• Good debugging and profiling skills across multiple systems, together with the ability to write clean, maintainable and self-explanatory code
• Working knowledge of CI/CD and build pipelines
