About the Job 

Gears for Breakfast is seeking an experienced Gameplay Programmer to join our programming department on an unannounced project! In this role, you'll be developing gameplay systems and features both in C++ and Unreal Engine Blueprint, while ensuring ease-of-use for designers and maintaining stability & performance 
 

You’ll work closely with other disciplines to implement, iterate on, and refine gameplay features This role requires strong collaboration skills, clear communication, and the ability to incorporate feedback from both internal teams and playtesting into practical technical solutions.   
 

We’re looking for someone who has a passion for iteration and strives to deliver engaging gameplay experiences. 

 

About You 

  • 3+ years of Unreal Engine experience, including Unreal Blueprint
  • 4+ years of C++ experience
  • Has shipped at minimum 1 commercial title in a programming role
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive to learn and grow as a programmer. 
  • Can be an active driving force within a small team to reach desired gameplay and game feel goals 
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, able to communicate complex concepts to non-programmers
  • Able to iterate quickly during prototyping
  • Well-versed in common programming and Unreal Engine concepts such as pointers, templates, lambdas, reflection, components and Unreal macros.
