Job Description

Are you a game designer with solid international experience in creation and/or liveops? We are looking for a talent like you to join Gameloft Saigon! Our team of 20+ multicultural game designers are working on exciting projects, both independently and in co-development with other Gameloft studios around the world, involving famous IPs  and a variety of game genres, including open-world adventure, racing, action, casual, educational kids’ games. Bringing both rich expertise and versatility, you will play a key role in our journey to build a strong game design team through hands-on collaboration, knowledge sharing, internal training, within our growing studio in the vibrant Ho Chi Minh City.

You will shape the game’s vision by defining design intentions, crafting gameplay systems, mechanics, levels, and combat design while collaborating with cross-functional game development teams (Artist, Developer, Producer, Product Manager, Data Analyst, etc.) to deliver engaging player experiences. Your daily work will include:

  • Design and develop gameplay mechanics, levels, and systems ensuring that they are intuitive, easy to understand, and enjoyable.
  • Create and maintain game design documents, including concept pitches, feature specifications, and user interface designs.
  • Prototype and iterate on game concepts to refine gameplay mechanics and user interactions, considering feedback from internal teams and user testing sessions.
  • Balance gameplay difficulty and complexity to accommodate the cognitive and motor skills development of players as well as the game economy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to integrate GD content and ensure alignment with project team's objectives then adapt and modify game design elements based on feedbacks and technical constraints for flexibility throughout the design process.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in game design to continually innovate and improve our products.

Qualifications

  • Solid experience in Game Design with broad understanding of all core aspects of game design (gameplay mechanics, systems, 3Cs, UI/UX, player progression, etc.) along with a great passion for video games.
  • Good English communication skills and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams (Artist, Developer, Producer, Product Manager, Data Analyst, etc.) to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Proven track record with a portfolio demonstrating successful and shipped projects and multi-platform titles.
  • Understanding of the market and target audience of Mobile Video Games & PC/Console.
  • Proficient in game design supporting tools and game engine such as Unity, Unreal Engine.
  • Creative problem-solving skill, self-disciplined, motivated and committed to achieving the final game result and company goals.
