About Us

Chimera Entertainment is an independent game development studio based in Germany. We create high-quality games through strong collaboration, clear ownership, and thoughtful production processes.

Our teams combine creative ambition with pragmatic execution. We value people who communicate openly, think in systems, take responsibility for their work, and help the team make better decisions.

To strengthen our development team, we are looking for a Senior Unity Programmer who brings strong Unity experience, a solid engineering mindset, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to technical design and gameplay systems. This is a remote role and does not require working from the Munich office.

Your role:

As an Experienced Unity Gameplay Programmer you will work on real-time gameplay and game systems in Unity. You will contribute to the technical foundation of a game shipped for PC and/or console, collaborate closely with game design and art, and help shape robust, maintainable solutions.

This is a senior role, but not necessarily a full lead position. Lead experience is a plus, but the main focus is on strong technical ownership, good communication, pragmatic decision-making, and the ability to work well within an interdisciplinary production team.

We are looking for someone who is more than just a coder: someone who thinks in systems, understands trade-offs, contributes to tech design, and helps the team move forward without becoming dogmatic, while working onsite in our Cebu office and supporting our development team in Munich.

Role Overview

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain gameplay features and real-time systems in Unity.

  • Contribute to technical design discussions and implementation planning.

  • Work closely with game designers, artists, technical artists, and production in a remote setup.

  • Build clean, maintainable, and extensible gameplay systems in Unity.

  • Apply common software patterns where they make sense for the project.

  • Work with Git workflows, code reviews, and collaborative development practices.

  • Help identify technical risks, dependencies, and optimisation needs.

  • Support debugging, profiling, and performance improvements.

  • Work with Unity plugins and tools such as behaviour trees where relevant.

  • Use AI-assisted workflows thoughtfully where they improve productivity, code quality, or iteration speed.

  • Communicate clearly about technical constraints, opportunities, and trade-offs.

  • Experience with Git workflows, including code reviews.

  • Strong engineering mindset - you think in systems, not just isolated tasks.

  • Ability to actively contribute to technical design processes.

  • Good understanding of optimisation and performance considerations.

  • AI affinity and interest in using AI-assisted workflows responsibly, where they improve engineering quality or productivity.
