As a VFX artist, your responsibilities will vary from helping fill the world with motion, to working with other teams to bring design ideas to life. Utilizing proprietary tools, you’ll embellish the worlds, characters, and gameplay with VFX. Collaboration is key, and every task is a great opportunity to get to know about the people you work with, all while creating amazing content that will delight players around the world.

Based on the Hiring Manager assessment, an art test may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with the VFX Lead to author effect assets that enhance gameplay and the game world
- Use proprietary tools, Photoshop, Substance Designer and Maya to create effects that balance the visual goals of the project with the performance demands of the game engine
- Help develop visual language through the craft of visual effects
- Collaborate closely and communicate frequently with cross-discipline teams in asset creation and project risk assessment
- Participate in growth opportunities with VFX Lead and other artists to cultivate your artistic acumen through team art critiques, feedback reviews, and discussions
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Understanding of the principles of real time visual effects
- Experience with node-based shaders
- Understanding of Art and Visual Design fundamentals (color theory, etc.)
- Strong familiarity with texture creation in Photoshop, and Substance Designer
- Strong familiarity with creating particle models and UV techniques
- Ability and willingness to follow direction, collaborate productively with others, and work to meet deadlines as necessary
- A portfolio or demo reel that demonstrates artistic and technical skills, as well as a firm grasp of timing and scale
- Experience with Unreal Engine 4, 5, Unity3D or other modern development toolsets
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:
- Experience with and passion for competitive games
- Animation background
- Experience with Houdini, Embergen, or Substance Designer

- 20 days of accrued time-off in the form of PTO and sabbatical days, depending on the level of the position
