Tools Programmer

Smilegate Barcelona is seeking a Tools Programmer to join a team of highly skilled coders.

• Strong C# design and coding experience, with special focus on maintainability and performance.
• Understanding on how to transform user requests into meaningful and working features.
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary, iterative environment.
• Experience in tools programming.
• Experience with database systems.
• A deep desire to be part of a brand new team and project.

What the role involves:

The Tools Programmer works alongside our Engine Programmers to create tools and pipelines needed by our Team to create unique and memorable gaming experiences.

• Develop, maintain, optimize and improve our Unreal Engine build and distribution pipelines.
• Identify and fix issues or problems that affect the development workflow.
• Coordinate with Engine and Gameplay programmers to provide solutions that balance rapid iteration with stability.
• Provide daily support to our team.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Write clear and maintainable code

Role requirements:

• Previous experience writing tools inside a AAA studio is a plus.
• User Experience working knowledge is a plus.
• Innovative thinker with creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary, and iterative environment.
• Strong understanding of development processes, workflows, and tools..
