Magic Leap is seeking Ph.D., Masters, or Bachelors students who are underrepresented in the field of Engineering/Computing to join their team for a 3-month summer program. The Technical Program Management Team is looking for a Software Program Management Intern to assist in the planning and coordination of software development projects. The intern will work closely with the software development and program teams to develop a forecasting model to assist the teams with predictability. The intern will be responsible for coordinating complex, multi-disciplinary projects, managing plan, tasks, risks and issues resolution, communications, and implementation. The internship will begin in June 2023 and requires physical presence at Magic Leap's headquarters in Plantation, Florida. The ideal candidate should have exceptional written and oral presentation skills, be comfortable working with a diverse group of people, and have a BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Job Description:

The Technical Program Management Team (TPM) at Magic Leap is seeking a Software Program Management Intern to assist in the planning and coordination of software development projects. The intern will work closely with our software development and program teams to develop a forecasting model to assist the teams with predictability.

The Technical Program Management team manages the portfolio of Mixed Reality projects across Platform, SDK, Apps and Infrastructure.  This central organization coordinates with Product and Engineering teams to create Agile planes and release milestones and then execute on them. We are looking for candidates who are creative, energetic team players who excel in a fast-paced, hand-on environment. 

This internship will begin in June 2023 and requires physical presence at Magic Leap's headquarters in Plantation, Florida.

Responsibilities

  • Intern will work on new products or software features for existing Platform/SDK products
  • Coordinate complex, multi-disciplinary projects, developing requirements and timelines, and helping to usher these projects through to completion
  • Manages one or multiple projects to support the Engineering Programs from start to finish, managing plan, tasks, risks and issues resolution, communications and implementation
  • Observe and track Lead time data over several sprints to generate a simulated range which will be used in a forecasting POC
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure project goals are met
  • Owns a customer feature(s), and/or SDK and software release(s) from definition, development and testing, through rollout to customers
  • Coordinates resources, provides clear direction and timelines for deliverables, collaborates, and delegates tasks across a cross-functional team: Product Management, Systems Engineering, System Test and SDK/Software development teams

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate exceptional written and oral presentation skills to senior audiences
  • Seek information beyond what is plainly presented, with an aim to understand the team's goals and find ways to help accomplish these goals
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable working with a diverse group of people

Education

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field
