Technical Artist Intern



Wargaming Forge is looking for a part-time, remunerated intern to join their TechArt team in Belgrade for a 5-6 month period. The intern will learn basic knowledge relevant to TechArt, such as building a player-controlled 3D tank model, using specific programming tools, rigging, skinning, animating, and configuring behavior parameters. Preference will be given to candidates eligible to work in Serbia and who have basic modeling skills, knowledge of Maya, Russian and English at the B2 level, and basic knowledge of game engines, programming languages, and XML. The internship will be supervised by industry professionals and the best students and interns will be offered a job at Wargaming.

Duration: 5–6 months

Format: Onsite in Belgrade

Application period: February 14 – March 7, 2023

Terms: Remunerated, part-time (20 hrs/wk)

Additional info: Preference will be given to candidates eligible to work in the Serbia (nationals and individuals holding a valid work/study visa)


TechArt combines knowledge and skills from different game development areas, namely 3D modeling, programming, testing, and profiling. Our strength lies in technical aspects of visuals and knowing our way around game engines. As such, we provide technical support and maintenance for 3D game content at all stages of production and participate in integrating content into the engine.

Our team is also actively involved in optimizing system performance and developing new game mechanics, as well as discovering tools for content production. Sounds like you? Keep on reading because it only gets better.

What will you learn?  

  • You’ll receive basic knowledge relevant to TechArt.
  • You’ll l learn to build a player-controlled 3D tank model.
  • You’ll learn to use our specific programming tools.
  • You’ll get hands-on practice.
  • You’ll learn to work in a team.
  • You’ll learn to rig, skin, and animate moving parts and model them into the engine.
  • You’ll configure behavior parameters, physics, game model effects.

By the end of the internship, you’ll control your own tank, utilize the skills you’ve acquired, and add a new chapter to your resume.

Who will your mentors be?  

Pavel Vayser (Technical Artist)

The lead for engine integration and setting up vehicles, 3D styles, and customization. A fan of all video game genres and platforms from a young age, Pavel has always been curious about the internal workings of video games. As a result of this passion, he decided to become a game developer. He has been with Wargaming for over four years, one and a half of which in the TechArt team. His primary responsibility (among many other tasks) is incorporating and further modifying 3D tank models into the game engine. In his own words: “TechArt is the ideal place for me to work because I love programming and 3D modeling".  

What are we looking for?   

  • Basic modeling skills (the candidate understands how to create low poly modeling, mapping).
  • Basic knowledge of Maya (the candidate is familiar with the tool and knows the basics of modeling and mapping).
  • Knowledge of Russian at the B2 level. 
  • Knowledge of English  at the B2 level.

What additional skills will help you stand out?  

  • Basic knowledge of game engines (e.g., Unreal, Unity) 
  • Basic knowledge of any programming language (e.g., Python) 
  • Basic knowledge of XML 
  • Gamer or interested in games
