What We Need

We are looking for a Senior VFX Artist with a passion for making VFX magic happen. You will work with our Art team to build outstanding effects in support of our upcoming game. As part of our Art team, you will work closely with various internal partners to help bring our game to life.

What You Will Do

  • Drive content within the scope outlined by the Lead or Art Director
  • Create high quality, stylized and hand-drawn textures for VFX assets
  • Implement dynamic VFX that communicate gameplay and wow our players
  • Work within a team to bring a sense of life to otherwise static worlds
  • Work autonomously with minimal feedback and the ability to self-critique
  • Use advanced VFX techniques and technical know-how to push the team further
  • Craft fantastical effects, yet still be able to suspend disbelief

Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit

You‚ are passionate about advancing your skills, pushing the limits of what effects can do in games, and always seeking new VFX techniques. You like mathematics, is a master at solving logic problems, and when you encounter a challenge you will not give up until you find a solution. And you always find a solution.

  • 7 + years of VFX experience in the games or film industry
  • Previous AAA games experience preferred
  • Excellent communication
  • Knowledge of visual effect terminology and techniques
  • Good sense of timing and weight with regard to effects
  • Relevant 2D and 3D software experience; Photoshop, After Effects, Houdini, Maya, Unreal
  • Experience with Niagara a plus
  • An eye for recreating natural phenomena
  • Comfortable with Mathematical and node-based systems
The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $90,000 and $135,000 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
