Summary
ArenaNet, the developer and publisher of the award-winning Guild Wars game series, is seeking a Contract Senior Material Artist for a 6-month contract position. The Senior Material Artist will play a critical role in defining the look and feel of materials, create high-quality textures and materials, oversee the development of a material library, support artists in authoring and application of materials, and collaborate with Tech and Art in the design and implementation of material pipeline. The ideal candidate should have professional game industry experience as a Material Artist or Environment Artist with knowledge of material pipelines, expertise in Substance Designer and Painter as well as other industry-standard material authoring software, and a solid understanding of PBR rendering and material/light interaction. The hourly pay range for this position is $44-$57 USD, and the role is eligible for benefits through a third-party employing agency.

We are looking for a Contract Senior Material Artist join our team. This is a 6 month contract position.
As Senior Material Artist, you will…
- Play a critical role in defining the look and feel of our materials.
- Create high quality textures and materials.
- Oversee the development of a material library.
- Support artists in authoring and application of materials.
- Collaborate with Tech and Art in the design and implementation of material pipeline.
What This Role Requires
- Professional game industry experience as a Material Artist or Environment Artist with knowledge of material pipelines.
- Portfolio of work demonstrating artistic and technical skills with a range of realistic and stylized materials.
- Expertise in Substance Designer and Painter as well as other industry-standard material authoring software.
- Solid understand of PBR rendering and material/light interaction.
- Excellent collaboration and communications skills.
Nice To Have
- Experience with Unreal 4/5.
- Familiarity with procedural content generation
- Familiarity with working with photogrammetry.
- Ability to work in multiple art styles.
- Familiarity with working with traditional media.
This contract position compensation is an hourly rate plus any overtime if applicable. Please note that the listed hourly rate is a general guideline only. We take into consideration the geography in which you live and your experience and qualifications when determining final pay. This role is eligible for benefits through a third party employing agency. Agency benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and flexible and dependent care spending accounts.
