Production Director

The Production Director (Leamington) is the leader of the production team in Atomhawk’s Advance studio. They are responsible for overseeing the team that deliver day-to-day management and planning of projects which are creatively outstanding and financially rewarding.
As line-manager they are responsible for day-to-day pastoral care, setting objectives and working with the team to enhance overall quality of project delivery and efficiency within the Advance studio. They are also responsible for recruiting and overseeing training of new members of the Advance Production Team.
On a strategic level the Production Director will maintain oversight of all projects in the Advance studio and troubleshoot / support where necessary. The Production Director is comfortable discussing high quality, and often complex, game development projects with development teams. A strong working relationship with the Department Leadership Team is a key aspect of the role.
Working as part of the senior management team, they help in qualifying new business opportunities for existing clients and enquiries allocated to the Advance studio. Their primary role for supporting is to help assess and plan for future growth of key clients, working alongside the Department Leadership Team and associated Producers.
They also take an active role in ensuring the Marketing objectives of the business are planned and resourced, plus having input into initiatives relating to studio culture, morale and client service.
The Production Director oversees various areas relating to process and tracking of projects. This includes overall responsibility for tracking of KPI’s, data and scheduling relating to projects owned by the Advance studio. The Production Director is supported in this role by the Senior Producer and Producer.

Functional Responsibilities

    • Line management of Atomhawk Advance senior production team
    • Provide strategic production direction for all Advance projects
    • Troubleshooting and problem mitigation planning for Advance projects as required
    • Aiding with the qualification, planning and estimation of complex projects
    • Project leader for identification, procurement and roll-out of production-specific digital systems for the Advance team
    • Responsible for documentation and regular reviews of Advance’s production processes and systems
    • Arrange and attend regular meetings with representatives from other Atomhawk production teams (cross studio)
    • Set regular meetings with the Department Directors (or equivalent) to identify future Advance project needs and plan resourcing accordingly
    • Liaise with Producers to ensure Project QC and Client satisfaction is up-held for Advance projects
    • Oversee Pipedrive entries for Advance projects and opportunities are up to date
    • Liaise with Studio Director with Contracts, NDA’s and PO admin 
    • Work with Brand Marketing Manager to deliver marketing projects assigned to be delivered by the Advance studio
    • Input on P&L for Advance Studio, setting and managing budgets.

Production Team Leadership

    • Day to day line management duties of listed members of the Advance Production Team, including facilitation of training and personal development in line with the overall company CPD programme
    • Providing production and project management direction to Advance team on strategically important projects and key accounts
    • Identifying resource requirements within the general Atomhawk team and overseeing recruitment of new team members alongside the Studio Director and Department Directors.

Project Management

    • Involved in key client relationships and communication, including identifying new business opportunities (alongside other members of the Senior Management and Production Teams) and troubleshooting
    • Working with Department Leadership Team to successfully interpret direction given by clients

Business Development

    • Working within the Senior Leadership Team to support a business development strategy that retains and develops existing clients
    • Comfortable writing and delivering quotes and proposals to clients when required, in liaison with Studio Director and Department Leadership
    • Contributing to PR opportunities and events when required
    • Supporting Brand Marketing Manager to facilitate and plan Atomhawk marketing activity that requires resource from the Advance Team.

Processes and Systems

    • Leading continuous improvement and refinement of processes and systems relating to production and project management; encompassing scheduling, project tracking, time tracking and KPI’s (including automation)
