The Team:

PlayStation’s Data Foundations team builds the underlying big data platform that powers data driven decisions, intelligent customer experiences and operational analytics across the entire PlayStation experience!

We are located in San Diego, and are passionate about gaming and data, as well as being friendly, encouraging, and inclusive. We are looking for a Product Manager who can continue to build and improve the Data Foundations product offering. In this role you will work in a team, innovating on the existing product offering and defining what comes next for the PlayStation Data Ecosystem.
 

The Role:

This Product Manager will be responsible for defining requirements and working with customers and partners in setting the direction for the platform, with a view to outlining how we handle, protect, manage and activate PlayStation data at scale. The ideal candidate is a Product Management professional who brings innovative products to the market and has the technical background vital to partner with a variety of product, engineering and analytics teams.

You should be passionate about big data platforms, and the activation of data forward techniques across the product life cycle. You will have developed outstanding product management skills. You anchor your decisions in strategy and defend them with data, and you thrive in an active and highly ambitious environment. This is a high impact role that demonstrates strong technical and business skills to deliver innovative features for our customers and partners.
 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the needs of Data Foundations capabilities from PlayStation teams and partners
  • Own, develop, maintain, and evangelize the product roadmap for Data Foundations @ PlayStation
  • Propose and present future product innovations for the Data Foundations offering
  • Input into the Data Platform Product Management Lead as part of the wider product data strategy
  • Engage at a detailed technical level to drive product requirements
  • Drive feature prioritization, process improvements, and product development direction
  • Define success metrics and SLAs on the key data products and services
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing and ensure requirements were understood and implemented as requested
  • Proactively provide customer and business context to engineering teams
  • Establish SME status relative to Data @ PlayStation and provide insights into market trends
  • Drive teamwork across all customers within PlayStation
     

Required Qualifications, Skills, & Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in product management or in with a focus on the application of big data
  • Strong analytical abilities and experience with data driven product design and decision making
  • Excellent communicator able to articulate the value of data techniques to customers across the organization
  • Solid understanding of the ethical issues that surround Big Data and its application
  • Experience in working with a wide array of partners across organizations, including engineering, product management, project management, analytics groups.
  • An ambitious self-starter who deals well with ambiguity
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
