Job description

We're looking for a talented and passionate Privacy Counsel to join our Legal team. Our Privacy legal function is critical for Wildlife Studios. Without a healthy privacy program, our relationship with our players would be jeopardized and we would risk noncompliance with obligations assumed before partners, app stores and regulators.

As a Privacy Counsel, reporting to our Data Protection Officer, you will be responsible for driving our compliance efforts at Wildlife globally. You'll play a key role in our efforts to mitigate risk for the business while also creating a safe experience for our players. You'll work directly with product, engineering, monetization, and operations teams, providing counseling to help them integrate privacy solutions into our games and services.

What you'll do

As a key player of our Legal team, you will:

  • Be responsible for the operational implementation of our privacy program, translating requirements under international privacy laws and regulations into actionable advice for internal stakeholders;
  • Provide support to our teams, helping them implement the best practices and controls necessary to handle player and employee data;
  • Be a point of reference for privacy queries requiring legal advice.
  • Conceive and establish scalable new routines and controls that our internal stakeholders may rely on and leverage privacy best practices across Wildlife.
  • Undertake Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for major products and services, and work with our teams to integrate PIAs into new products and services.
  • Document our practices and routines to drive accountability.

What you'll need

  • Qualified lawyer in Brazil with 5+ years of post-qualified legal experience.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in Privacy at a top law firm or in-house at a tech company.
  • Firm grasp of international privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, COPPA, and the LGPD.
  • Experience in privacy by design reviews and projects, doing Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIA) and advising a non-legal audience.
  • Experience with gaming is a plus.
  • Knowledge of app store guidelines (e.g., Apple and Google) is a plus.

More about you

  • Very good level of written and verbal communication in English. Most of our work is in English;
  • Ability to work autonomously and with a high degree of ownership;
  • Ability to impart knowledge, promote positive behaviors, and drive change;
  • Passionate about developing creative and scalable solutions to existing problems;
  • Keen business sense;
  • Curious and eager to work with gaming and the mobile industry;
  • Stimulated by new and complex subject matter outside of the Legal realm;
  • Our offices are located in São Paulo, and you may be expected to be present in person a few days a week.
