The People Partner will be responsible for providing strategic business partnering services to one or multiple internal client groups. The role involves developing good rapport with key stakeholders, upskilling technical expertise, generating insights with data, facilitating the roll-out of cyclical People & Culture activities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is provided to the People Operations team, and contributing to the development of new policies, processes, and systems. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in Human Resources, a post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Job description

Purpose

The People Partner will partner one or multiple internal client group(s) becoming a trusted advisor on all operational people matters. The People Partner will be developed to deliver a strategic business partnering service, supported and led by a senior member of the People Partnering team. 

The People Partner is a valued member of the People Partnering team, which is responsible for providing expert strategic and technical HR advice to our business units and corporate functions. 

Responsibilities

Business Partnering

As the trusted advisor for your client group you will:

  • Develop good rapport with key stakeholders in your client group, really understanding their position in the business, their unique value add and how they fit into the broader organisational picture
  • Regularly research and upskill your technical expertise to be able to advise on people matters, balancing business pressure with an understanding of local regulatory framework
  • Generating insights with data to assist and support your client group with workforce planning continually evolving organisational designs for optimum efficiency, scalability and performance with support from senior team members 
  • Be the ear to the ground with the ability to cascade feedback up and down and across in a timely way that mitigates risk, retains talent, reduces duplication of effort and creates economies of scale

HR Delivery 

As the conduit between the business and P&C:

  • Facilitate the roll out of cyclical People & Culture activities like objective setting, performance review, remuneration review, culture and engagement surveys and more to ensure that it is a smooth process for ‘end users’ with maximum uptake
  • Represent your client group when People & Culture are working on any new blueprint programs

People Systems

Data can be our most important asset:

  • Ensure that information provided to the People Operations team is accurate and up to date and that the data maintained by People Operations remains rich and clean for us to derive insights from

HR Operating Model

Enact service excellence:

  • Regularly share your learnings with the team, informally coaching or mentoring others in matters which you are in SME in or are learning about to elevate the teams capability
  • Contribute to the development of new policies, processes and systems to build out a sturdy foundational framework to support business growth

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in Human Resources, ideally 3+ years
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources Management
  • CHRP designation will be considered an asset
  • Background working for tech companies is ideal, particularly in the start-up or scale-up phase
  • A natural communicator with the ability to make the complex simple
  • Ability to work autonomously with little or no supervision as well as part of a team that values collaboration
  • Ability to be comfortable with flux and manage change in an effective way
  • A results oriented mindset who can take big ideas away, synthesise them down into plans and execute on them
