Role Overview:

The EMEA Payroll Manager will be responsible for providing a professional Payroll service, coordinating information between our internal HR teams and our payroll and benefits providers.

We currently operate one monthly in-house UK payroll for c.2250 colleagues, support on an Irish payroll for <5 employees and partner with our global mobility team to review a modified payroll for our international assignees. We plan to transition the UK payroll to a managed payroll operating model in the first half of 2023.

Once that’s up and running, we’ll move to the next phase of our transformation where we’ll look to support our colleagues in Europe (c.800 colleagues) by transitioning their locally delivered payrolls into the managed service.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to get involved in setting up and embedding new processes and ways of working.

Key responsibilities

  • Initially responsible for delivering a timely and accurate in-house UK payroll. Over time, successfully transitioning this service to a managed payroll operating model.
  • Drive the expansion of the service to a multi-country model delivered via the external provider.
  • Work closely with the provider to review and reconcile payroll on a monthly basis for multiple countries ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Work in partnership with internal teams and the outsourced service provider to ensure high customer satisfaction scores and consistent delivery against agreed service levels.
  • Proactively oversee and advise customers and business leaders on important metrics, service levels and critical issues affecting service delivery.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and the external provider to provide satisfactory and timely resolution to queries.
  • Develop excellent relationships within SIE and beyond. Collaborating with colleagues in HR, Benefits, Compensation, Business and external parties to ensure timely and accurate results.
  • Responsible for maintaining and operating effective internal controls to ensure compliance with agreed policies, controls, audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and business continuity plans to include regular testing.
  • Keep up to date with legislative changes, account management updates and opportunities to improve and drive the service forward.

What we’re looking for:

  • Significant experience in managing an outsourced payroll provider covering multiple territories in Europe.
  • Background in multi-tier support structure and dealing with external outsource support model.
  • Possess a deep understanding and experience of a SAP payroll in UK and Europe.
  • Strong leadership skills with a collaborative approach.
  • Customer centric approach and a desire to deliver a great customer experience.
  • Ability to use MS Excel formulas/skills to validate data and ensure data accuracy.
  • Proficient in Workday and SAP would be a big plus
  • Ability to drive system automations to eliminate manual processes.
  • Continuous improvement approach with the ability to see opportunities
  • Ability to apply sound judgment and discretion with sensitive information.
  • Proactive anticipations of issues and developing collaborative relationships with upstream and downstream functions.
