Media and Marketing Analytics Manager

Toronto, Ontario / Hybrid 

PlayStation Global's Engagement, Player Insights and Media team is seeking a data-obsessed media and insights professional who will be a key contributor enabling delivery of business growth and increasing marketing ROI across our paid campaigns. In this role you will also work closely with the Global Insights and Media Planning team to contribute to translating Global and local research or player data into actionable insights to drive campaign planning decisions.

The ideal candidate is a paid media subject matter expert that possesses a passion for marketing effectiveness. They are able to work collaboratively with our Media agency as well as directly with local and Global media partners to stay on the pulse of the latest ad product and measurement. They must be comfortable navigating a variety of data visualization and insights tool and assembling reporting. A solid business acumen, natural curiosity, and the ability to effectively shift between communications styles based on the audience to effectively support various stakeholders. Most importantly, this person must intrinsically be a champion of our PlayStation players and broader gaming community.

Responsibilities: 

Media:

  • Support the Campaign Management team in translating Global Media Strategies into Locally relevant tactical media briefs and approaches, maximising opportunities to drive Local value and deliver on Local Marketing KPIs
  • The paid media subject matter expert that as required serves a consult/partner to Campaign Mangers to maximize media efficiency and effectiveness
  • Help Campaign Management Team translate performance metrics to meaningful performance insights to be used in future campaigns
  • Agency management responsibility as first point of contact for Local Media agency, optimizing current partnerships & relationships, implementing the ways of working and bridging between Local agency and local PlayStation team
  • Lead local relationships with Global and local media partners staying informed on ad products innovations and and broader media and consumer media consumption insights
  • Bring forward test & learn opportunities, betas and reapply learnings across local campaigns and feed into Global media best practice initiatives
  • Key stakeholder for Global Media Team
  • Establish and maintain Local media KPI benchmarks, with the support of the media agency and the Global media teams.
  • Improve Local visibility of Globally managed media efforts and collaborate closely with the managing teams to: maintain awareness of planning cycles, drive best practice and delivery against Local requirements, and interrogate performance via a dashboard and reporting cycles.
  • Partner with the Global media team in maximising global media partnerships and joint business plans. Partner on responsible media initiatives, including sustainability, data and privacy, media quality, disinformation, and DE&I

Consumer Insight & Marketing Analytics:

  • Consumer insights champion, leading Local Marketing analysis across Brand, Hardware, First- and Third-party Software and Services/D2C.
  • Support Campaign Management and Community & Cultural Activation teams to provide robust understanding of campaign impact.
  • Lead ROI analysis for all Local initiatives across touchpoints to deliver actionable learnings for future marketing initiatives, including paid media analytics and comms & PR analytics.
  • Super user for all internal Marketing data resources, tools, and systems, improving visibility of these among the Canada team, and help to upskill in data-informed decision making. Maintain a knowledge base to help teams navigate data and insight resources.
  • Champion Global to Local audience segmentation and understanding. Own Local player insights and data, utilizing Global segmentation for Local effectiveness, and designing Local audience needs to develop strategic focus areas or targeting approaches.
  • Act as a key conduit between Local Marketing and Global Marketing to escalate and champion Local insight needs and secure support. Lead co-ordination of Local market insight requirements.
  • Routinely surface and socialize data and insights for: brand health, consumer sentiment, website, e-commerce, PlayStation platform and player behaviours, engagement and monetisation, retailer insights and data sources
  • Input into Local business and commercial planning – surfacing consumer insight and platform analytics to support forecasting or sales analysis.

Qualifications: 

  • Strong analytical knowledge base and an inquisitive mindset, seeking insights and embracing a methodical approach focused on the consumer
  • Ability to interpret and model complex data including qualitative and quantitative information, to draw considered and robust conclusions, and to provide reporting in a clear and concise manner.
  • Enthusiasm and patience to explore data analytics and insights tools and report as required.
  • Ability to focus on detail while also  taking a longer-term strategic and objective view.
  • Must be articulate, remaining objective and professional in a high-paced environment.
  • Enthusiastic and confident, team player, innovative thinker, fast learner, excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, and the ability to relate and communicate with a wide range of people.
  • Strong relationship management, planning, negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Strong paid media expertise, especially in digital. Technically strong understanding of AdTech including ad servers, DMPs, DSPs, on-boarding and data collaboration, cross device analytics.
  • Highly developed time management skills, with the ability to successfully manage numerous projects simultaneously with time pressured deliverables for multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage Third Party relationships with sub-contractors, agencies, or other collaborators, to ensure accurate, timely delivery, to a pre-agreed budget.
  • Strong knowledge of spoken & written English.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with global and local teams across time zones and flexible working arrangements, with consideration and understanding

Qualifications: 

  • 7+ years of work experience in a media or marketing analytics capacity
  • Experience in media, digital marketing, preferably with agency-side experience
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field OR equivalent experience
  • Tools: 
    • Enterprise Analytics Platforms (e.g. Adobe Analytics)
    • Data Warehousing and Visualision Tools (e.g. MicroStrategy, QlikSense, Datorama)
    • Media Planning Tools (e.g. Comscore, Global Web Index)
    • AdTech & MarTech (e.g. DCM, Sizmek, Salesforce, DoubleVerify, Adwords)
