Skydance Animation is seeking a Matte Painting Lead with 6+ years of professional experience in animation or VFX and 1+ years of experience as a lead. The ideal candidate should have a perfect understanding of shape, light and color, composition and perspective, and strong creative and technical skills. The Matte Painting Lead will be responsible for creating photo-realistic and stylized digital environments, providing input during visual development/design phase, finalizing complex shots alone from scratch, and coordinating the team. The candidate should have professional mastering in modeling, texturing/shading, lighting, rendering in Maya with Arnold, Photoshop, and compositing with Nuke. As the Matte Painting Lead, you will be responsible for painting from photo-real to stylized digital environments and create 3D elements for matching into 3D plates.
Responsibilities
- Create Photo-realistic and stylized DMP’s having Knowledges of how to combine photograph-digital paintings-3D elements.
- Provide input during visual development/design phase.
- Use scripting tools and gizmos.
- Finalize a complex shots alone from scratch.
- Keep the pipeline of the department update and coordinate the team.
- Lead his/her team to clearly meet the expectations on the duties assigned.
- Ensure the team members collaborates with others, inside and outside their team.
- Must be responsive to deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Follow the Supervisor’s guidance.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional experience in animation industries or VFX.
- 1+ years of experience as Lead in the animation industry or VFX.
- Perfect understanding of shape, light and color, composition and perspective.
- Strong creative and technical skills and ability to share them.
- Professional mastering in modeling, texturing/shading, lighting, rendering in Maya with Arnold.
- Professional mastering in Photoshop.
- Professional mastering in compositing with Nuke.
- High knowledge in Mary, Z-brush, Houdini.
- High English level.
