Reporting to the Lead Technical Artist, you will:

  • Use 3D and/or procedural techniques to create high-quality, physically-based materials/textures for use with props, environments, characters, and weapons
  • Create, refine, and maintain content for a material library in Unreal Engine for a visually consistent and highly immersive world
  • Collaborate with Environment, Weapon, and Character teams to anticipate and find solutions to various visual or art pipeline challenges
  • Accomplish goals within production timelines
  • Create supporting documentation for techniques and process
  • Perform studies in order to expand your skill set and/or stay current with technical knowledge about current state-of-the-industry texturing techniques, content workflows, tools and pipelines


  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience
  • Portfolio demonstrating a wide variety of both tiling materials and 0-1 UV-mapped assets using both procedural and 3d sculpted techniques
  • Solid understanding of PBR rendering and the interaction between materials and lighting
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage and organize work in order to meet deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine 4/5
  • Strong knowledge of Substance Designer
  • Solid understanding of color theory, and be able to create balanced and appealing color palettes
  • Must be punctual, diligent, articulate, and organized
  • Experience with Unreal Blueprints, Python or another scripting language
  • Understanding of Texel density, memory limitations, etc


  • Shipped 1 or more AAA titles as an environment or material artist
  • Experience constructing master materials in Unreal Engine
