Marketing Manager
1047 Games began with the simple principle that people should have fun while making great games. Bucking convention and driven by a passion to create the ultimate gaming experience, Ian Proulx and Nicholas Bagamian founded 1047 Games in 2017 in their Stanford dorm room. Their love for arena shooters of the past drove them to create Splitgate, a unique sci-fi first-person shooter that adds portal guns to upend the genre.
What started as two computer science majors putting portals into a first-person shooter for a project demo has evolved into a VC-backed company which has raised more than $120MM in funding.
At 1047 Games, you’ll find a permanently remote, dedicated team of top-tier talent from some of the world’s biggest gaming and tech companies who share our founders’ vision. Grit, ingenuity, a desire to have fun, and a start up mentality define our crew. We are currently working on a brand new shooter in the Splitgate universe.

Responsibilities
- Help to develop, evolve, and execute growth strategies
- Be the owner of specific marketing verticals on our road to publishing our next title, and be able to execute at a high level with minimal guidance
- Manage a set of pre-release product health and engagement metrics to achieve our launch targets
- Support the live operations of our next title through writing and editing public-facing messaging tailored to our audience
- Oversee the ideation and execution of virtual and in-person events
- Serve as internal champion and visible advocate by becoming a trusted member of the Splitgate community
- Manage sentiment to foster a creative, safe, vibrant and welcoming community
- Work directly with the Head of Marketing on big-ticket activations with agencies
- Write documentation and align cross-functional teams of product and live service requirements that will increase the success opportunities of our games
- Varied marketing tasks as needed, that may include KPI reporting and overseeing brand marketing activations, among other asks
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years experience in brand or product marketing
- Shipped at least one console/PC product
- Experience working in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional organization
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and juggle multiple priorities resulting in high quality outcomes
- Demonstrated copywriting / copyediting skills
- Extensive knowledge of video games and their respective communities
- Deep understanding of Discord, Reddit, Twitch and other similar platforms
- A proven track record of successful community or customer interactions
- Strong, demonstrated strategic experience with retention methods, risk mitigation and engagement programming.
Pluses
- CRM (email, push note, player journey) experience
- Community management or social media management experience
- Experience generating content (blogs, video, video editing, podcasts, etc.)
- Third party relationship management experience
- Experience playing Splitgate or other PC/console shooters (Halo, Fortnite, etc.)
- Streaming or video content creation experience
- Experience working with distributed teams in different time zones
- Familiarity with graphics editors and graphic design
