About the Role

We are looking for an experienced lawyer to support Twitch’s expanding and evolving operations in EMEA and other territories outside North America.  You will be a member of the International Legal Team and advise the business on the legal, regulatory and commercial aspects of diverse projects including content, partnerships, marketing, litigation, employment, regulatory inquiries and expansion efforts. This is an excellent opportunity to join Twitch's close-knit legal team, build relationships with Amazon Entertainment Legal teams and have fun tackling the complex issues faced by our business, clients and communities.

You will seek responsibility and autonomy in your role and you will be inquisitive, enthusiastic about media, content and technology, and enjoy being challenged intellectually. The role is based in our London offices and some international travel may be required.  Professional fluency in German,  French or Spanish would be highly beneficial for this role.

You Will:

  • Advise the business on legal, regulatory and commercial issues relating to the strategic development of the EMEA business and other projects to be rolled out in the APAC and LATAM regions. 
  • Structure and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements including in relation to content, business development, marketing and creative services.
  • Advise on the legal and commercial aspects of marketing campaigns, content projects and new partnerships.  
  • Partner with the Public Policy team to determine emerging trends in legislation impacting Twitch and Amazon.
  • Advise on contentious matters, including in relation to content moderation, consumer, HR and employment.
  • Provide support for the International Legal team for regulatory inquiries and related workstreams.
  • Manage corporate filings and company secretarial work for the Twitch International business.
  • Assist in driving projects forward across the broader Amazon Group and other Twitch Legal teams as needed.

You Have:

  • University Degree and legal qualifications.
  • 3-5 years post qualification experience (PQE).
  • A mix of law firm and in-house experience,  although we will consider private practice lawyers who have demonstrable client exposure (eg through secondments).
  • Excellent legal and commercial awareness.

Bonus Points

  • Professional fluency in German, French or Spanish.
  • Media, content, video-game or advertising industry background.
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory principles affecting media and technology businesses, especially in relation to internet, technology and media regulation. 
  • Experience navigating uncharted waters and working with and influencing all levels of employees and management.
  • The ability to function as part of the international legal team and to operate autonomously when needed.
