Lead Marketing Designer at Sumo Group

Are you ready for your next career move? Sumo Group is seeking a Lead Marketing Designer with the ability to manage and inspire the whole design team!

As our Lead Marketing Designer, you'll be the creative driving force for all our studio brands. You'll work closely with our marketing team and studio stakeholders to develop unique and eye-catching designs that will set us apart. You will be working across 18 studios, all with different brand identities and personalities, so it’s important that you’re able to handle multiple projects and understand the needs of different target audiences.

But that's not all! We need someone who can lead a team of designers and keep them motivated and inspired. If you've got the skills to manage, mentor, and collaborate with your fellow designers, then we want you on our team! 

Please note this role is available on a hybrid basis and there would be an expectation to work from our Sheffield studio. 

In this role you will:

    • Guide, nurture, & mentor the team.
    • Solve difficult design problems and create frameworks from these solutions.
    • Ensure a high throughput of design projects that vary in range and scale, while ensuring they always represent our brand guidelines and values.
    • Work across various disciplines, including the video team, talent team, and wider business.
    • Take ownership of multiple design projects.
    • Identify opportunities to deliver best-in-class design across various assets including but not limited to digital content, merchandise, presentation toolkits, & branding.

What we need from you:

    • 7+ years of proven graphic design experience incorporating digital media and print.
    • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, focused on Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator, with working knowledge of Premiere and After Effects.
    • Managed and delivered innovative multi-discipline projects from concept to completion.
    • Strong knowledge of website design and maintenance.
    • Expert knowledge in managing and delivering print work for events and branded merchandise.
    • A varied portfolio of engaging & convincing digital media and print creative.
    • Solid experience in developing high-quality PowerPoint presentations.
    • Ideally worked in the video game and/or entertainment industry.
    • Experience in taking briefs, working independently, and be comfortable working with a range of stakeholders across the company.
