Job description

Larian Studios needs a Gameplay QA professional for our Malaysia studio! We have 25 years of experience creating critically acclaimed role playing games and pride ourselves on our excellent storytelling - our most recent title, Divinity Original Sin 2, has won over 160 awards (including BAFTA for Best Multiplayer Game) and our next game, Baldur’s Gate, is currently in Early Access and will be releasing later this year.

The Gameplay QA position is one of our most vital. At Larian Studios our number one concern is that our games are the polished and bug free experience that our players expect. This is where our QA’s come in, you will be helping to test and fine tune our games and help make it the best experience it can be.

What we will expect you to do:

    • Test and help improve our games to ensure great player experience
    • Test new builds to ensure the stability of the game
    • Follow priorities given by Lead QA to ensure current team-wide goals are met
    • Report bugs, validate bug correction
    • Assure follow-up of tickets during different production phases
    • The first line of support for the production team with regard to any technical issues
    • Execute checklists relating to testing the game's features as well as maintaining documentation

We are looking for someone who:

    • Has a passion for video games
    • Possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Is interpersonal and adaptable
    • Being resilient and able to think on your feet under pressure
    • Being able to adapt to working in a game production pipeline and using a variety of tools
    • Uses good judgment to estimate the significance and consequences of any bugs
    • Can work well as part of a local and international team
    • Is rigorous, methodical, independent and resourceful

Ideally you:

    • Are familiar with the RPG genre and you have played many RPGs extensively and critically 
    • Have experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets functions/scripting
    • Have prior experience in QA
    • Have experience in programming and/or scripting
    • Hold prior knowledge of Perforce, JIRA and Jenkins
