Finance Manager, Australia

As the Finance Manager you will manage all aspects of the financial reporting (i.e. internal and external) function for VGW’s Australian entities and the consolidation process. This role owns all aspects of vendor payments originating from Australia and provides input to the Tax team for regulatory compliance. You will be a key player in the Finance team that ensures effective internal controls are in place and continuous process improvements are implemented.
This role will also lead two direct reports, an Accountant and Financial Accountant.
Key responsibilities will include:
Operational Finance
- Oversight and management of all aspects of vendor payments including employee reimbursements to ensure robust internal control is in place
- Management and enhancement of Finance’s software applications such as Netsuite and Concur
- Organising and supervising finance systems in order to ensure timely and accurate production of accounts and reports
- Review and approval of vendor invoices as required
- Review of weekly net working capital report to Executives
- Partner with FP&A team to implement budget & forecast tool and deliver cost centre P&L reporting
Month end processes
- Oversight of the month end process including ensuring the completion of the General Ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations and production of the P&L statements for the Australian entities and Group Consolidation
- Provision of analysis and commentary regarding accounts and financial reports
Taxation and Compliance
- Submission of VGW Tax returns (GST and FBT) in Australia to the Tax Team for review
- Preparation of annual statutory accounts and half year-end accounts
What you will bring to the role:
- 7 - 10 years experience coupled with relevant tertiary qualifications and membership of professional Accounting and/or Financial institutions (CA or CPA)
- Strong financial reporting knowledge (including consolidation and foreign currency), advanced computer software skills, working knowledge of tax
- Excellent communication skills and confident dealing with senior stakeholders
- Collaborative and comfortable working with remote colleagues - dealing with people in different offices and time zones (Malta, PH, US & Canada).
- Leadership and mentoring skills
