About the role:
The External Development team’s main role is to manage Amber’s network of partner studios. Amber may work with such studios on a variety of projects, types of engagement and required skills. The Ext Dev team is responsible for maintaining the database of external partners, manage Amber’s outgoing RFPs, conduct the necessary due diligence process for evaluating the external studios, negotiate the contracts with the studios and manage the relationship between Amber’s product teams and external studios. The External Development team is part of the Corporate Development group, and its main client is the Product Development organization.
The Quest:
- Coordinate and administrate Amber’s external studios database.
- Prospect the market and attend industry events as necessary to identify potential partner studios for Amber.
- Coordinate the Due Diligence process for evaluating external studios, working together with Amber’s Guild / discipline leaders.
- Assist Amber’s production teams in identifying the right vendor for their needs.
- Draft RFP documents and validate them with key business and project stakeholders.
- Manage the RFP process, facilitate interviews and report on conclusions and findings to stakeholders.
- Coordinate the contract signing process with selected vendors.
- Preparing reports and presentations for stakeholders or potential partners.
- The External Development Specialist role reports to the External Development Director.
The Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or Economics.
- 2+ years of experience in business development, sales, procurement or related activity in the software field.
- Experience running supplier selection processes including Request For Proposals (RFPs) and commercial & contract negotiations.
- Previous experience in the video games industry (on any role) is a major advantage.
- Good knowledge of the games market is a plus.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- Organized, analytical thinker, problem-solving attitude.
- Ability to manage expectations appropriately while coordinating, planning, and meeting deadlines for deliverables in a fast-paced environment where projects span across teams.
- Proficient with MS Office suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English).
- Liking to play video games is a plus.
