What You'll Do

The Unreal Engine (UE) team is searching for a Director of Production who will lead the UE Production team in scaling the processes of the UE team and its expanding portfolio of products and customers, as well as ensure the successful delivery of multiple high-quality projects, on time and within budget, across multiple platforms.  

As head of production for the development team, you will build and lead a production and release management organization, pipeline, and processes that maximize the UE teams’ velocity and value delivered.

In this role, you will

  • Partner with UE leadership, cross-org teams and stakeholders to drive development goals, aligning on priorities and facilitating effective tradeoff conversations.
  • Work with cross-discipline senior leadership like Engineering, QA and Product, to establish and integrate our work systems for better efficiency. 
  • Provide leadership to the Production team with a focus on mentorship and long-term career growth.
  • Provide strategic and tactical oversight for all UE products and projects, as well as define, track, and report on production metrics and KPIs. Monitor overall development risks and roadblocks for major initiatives across the UE team. 
  • Ensure smooth development and delivery processes across multiple external and partner teams from prototype and through launch.
  • Manage cross-functional workflow-considerations and risks, align and facilitate communication for the roll-up of UE strategic (product + tech) roadmap.

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years of experience  working in Production, Project Management, and/or Agile at scale, 3+ years of experience supervising and developing teams of 25+. 
  • Exceptional knowledge/experience of driving process improvement and change management.
  • Experience in a software development organization and familiar with SDLC best practices. 
  • Formal agile and/or project management education and certification. Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships at every level; an excellent understanding of leading both directly and through influence. The kind of person that people want to work for and work with.
  • Deep knowledge of industry standard development pipelines and technology platforms. Game engine, game and/or platform development experience is preferred
  • Outstanding leadership, project management, communication and facilitation skills and adept at operating within ambiguous situations and high pressure scenarios
