Destiny Senior Production Engineering Discipline Manager


Production Engineers are force multipliers who use their expertise across Bungie systems and their passion for supporting others to increase the studio's effectiveness at shipping high quality content.

As the leader of the Production Engineering organization, you will build and drive strategy that guides the team to delivering the most impactful developer support. You will use your empathy and your high-level analytical skills to understand problems affecting large groups of developers and then work with your cross-discipline peers and your PE team to resolve them. You will write and upgrade Job Profiles and facilitate the people development process for the Production Engineering group including direct management and coaching for growth. You'll also ensure that the PE organization is healthy and lead by example with your sustainable work habits.



  • Build strategy and lead implementation for production engineering support across multiple business units
  • Make predictive staffing decisions and participate in annual process for headcount and resource planning
  • Oversee the health, culture, and effectiveness of the Production Engineering organization
  • Guide delivery on product, management, and craft of being a PE
  • Align with cross-discipline peers to ensure our processes are collaborative and well-integrated
  • Lead as an extension of company leadership and actively support company-wide change management
  • Develop a talent strategy for the PE org that supplies the company with the right amount of support with the right capabilities on a reasonable timeline


  • Directly manage a group of PE managers and leaders
  • Provide performance management, coaching, and career guidance for your direct reports and the organization
  • Build and upgrade Job Profiles and role descriptions
  • Act as a role model and provide through your inclusive leadership an example of management excellence that promotes participation and respect for others across the organization
  • Oversee hiring, training, and onboarding of new PE hires
  • Facilitate the annual people development sync process for your organization


  • Design and lead the craft strategy for the Production Engineering Team
  • Equip Production Engineers with tools and training for supporting healthy and effective teams
  • Develop training initiatives and mentorships that grow capabilities across the team

  • Experience successfully managing multiple Senior leaders or managers and leading an organization of at least 20 people
  • Experience interviewing, hiring, and onboarding full time employees
  • Experience developing or upgrading job profiles and role descriptions
  • High levels of autonomy and proactivity
  • Aptitude to quickly become proficient with proprietary game development toolsets


  • Experience working on a AAA game
  • Technical Art or Computer Science education or applicable work experience
  • Desk-side technical support experience
  • Familiarity with Digital Content Creation applications (3DS Max, Maya, Photoshop, Wwise)
  • Familiarity with game development suites (Unity, Unreal)
  • Familiarity with end user UR or UX best practices
  • Experience with source control software, especially Perforce
  • Technical Writing and documentation experience
  • Demonstrable scripting or object-oriented programming experience
