Skydance Animation is seeking a Data Analyst to help interpret statistical and numerical data to assess and compare the performance of the business. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree/MA or Ph.D. with a focus in Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, or Engineering, and 5+ years of professional experience. The Data Analyst will be responsible for developing complex data analysis, methodologies, and predictive data models for assessing animation and other business outcomes. They will also create, restructure, and manage large datasets, files, and systems, and provide relevant data-related reports to Skydance Animation leadership. The Data Analyst will use statistical programming software such as STATA, Python, SPSS, R, SAS, Tableau to create statistical, regression, and econometric models. The ideal candidate should have strong understanding of data mining, data models, segmentation techniques, and database design development. A Data Analyst will help Skydance Animation by interpreting statistical and numerical data to assess and compare the performance of a business.

Responsabilities

    • Develop or apply mathematical or statistical theory and methods to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize numerical data to provide usable information.
    • Develop complex data analysis, methodologies, and predictive data models for assessing animation and other business outcomes.
    • Create, restructure, and manage large datasets, files, and systems. Providing relevant data-related reports to Skydance Animation leadership, collaborative action networks, and key community stakeholders for decision-making, action planning, and continuous improvement: Analyze and synthesize research findings into key insights for stakeholders and Examine and correct data that has been corrupted. Determine and implement data acquisition and integration logic to guarantee optimal performance and scalability of the systems.
    • Provide technical assistance and build understanding among partners about the effective use of data: Work with management and technical teams to establish essential metrics and KPIs, as well as their analytical requirements.
    • Develop systems and tools for effective data management, visualization, and interpretation (systems design, dashboards, information graphics, mapping, Data and B.I. tools): Proficiently use statistical programming software such as: STATA, Python, SPSS, R, SAS, Tableau to create statistical, regression, and econometric models. Experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R, SAS, MATLAB) and Investigate and assess possible future market trends to develop new cutting-edge technologies.
    • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research and use mixed-method approaches to data analysis.
    • Write technical memos that document data processing decisions and summarize the quality of data.
    • Create research papers and policy briefs. § Assist in the design, implementation, and enforcement of data infrastructure, security, and system policies.
    • The Data Analyst will use/help to create company intelligence processes[GB2]  to develop effective business solutions supported by the corresponding technology tools.
    • Keeps up on current artistic methodologies and on technology trends and tools that best suit the production and the company in the development of a stronger creative and technical environment.

Requirements

    • 5+ years of professional experience.
    • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree/MA or Ph.D. with a focus in Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, or Engineering.
    • 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Analyst, or a Business Analyst (rare exceptions for highly skilled candidates).
    • Strong understanding of data mining, data models, segmentation techniques, and database design development.
    • Ability to structure, analyze, and extract data according to business requirements.
    • Applied statistics or experimentation (i.e., A/B testing) experience in an industry setting (Media and Entertainment Desirable).
    • High English level desirable. 
    • Spanish desirable.
