Position at Hardlight

Data Analyst (Junior - Senior)

Have you thought about a role as a Data Analyst in the gaming industry? This could be your opportunity to join our Live Operations team to support the mobile titles here at SEGA HARDlight. You would be responsible for creating queries of in-game data to produce user-friendly visualisations that support decision making – monitoring both Key Performance Indicators and uncovering actionable insights from our players to drive business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Querying in-game data to form the basis of further analysis
  • Creating and maintaining a range of data visualisations and dashboards
  • Working closely with our Design, Live Ops and Management teams to support business decision-making
  • Writing reports and presenting findings to a wide audience
  • Identifying areas for improvement in our games in areas such as retention and monetisation
  • Collaborating with other SEGA departments to utilise a variety of data sources
  • Designing and testing new analytics features before they go live

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Required:

  • Confidence in data handling tools such as Excel and SQL
  • Ability to create visualisations of data using Tableau or similar
  • Strong communication skills, both in a technical and non-technical context
  • Self-motivation, organisational skills, and an attention to detail
  • A passion for games and data, and promoting a data-driven approach across the company
  • Good problem-solving skills, with a drive to search beyond immediately available information

Desired

  • Experience in the games industry, ideally on free to play games
  • Knowledge of industry specific KPIs
  • Experience of designing and conducting experiments and AB testing
  • Knowledge of a full data pipeline, from schema definition through to data visualisation
  • Experience of other data analysis tools such as Python (Pandas/NumPy) or R
