CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Super Evil Megacorp is looking for a Creative Director to establish a brand new fantasy IP for a AAA project still in its early stages. You'll take leadership in identifying the soul & character of the IP universe and bringing it to life over the course of development. You'll work at the intersection of design, art, and narrative with far reaching consequences across disciplines. At Super Evil, we're shooting for the moon and aiming to bring something stunning and unforgettable to the players.

Responsibilities:

  • Animate and test in game assets for gameplay and cinematics 
  • Bring to life bipedal and quadrupedal characters.
  • Work with designers and engineers to integrate animation assets into the engine
  • Receive feedback and iterate to ensure we have the best experience in game
  • Help identify and troubleshoot potential problems that may arise in game
  • Provide rigging notes to technical animators 
  • Help create tools for animation
  • Help grow the team by participating in interviews 

What you bring to our adventuring party:

  • 12+ years game development experience, 5+ years as a key decision maker in a creative, design, art, or narrative role.
  • Shipped at least 1 AAA narrative driven game.
  • Proven experience making something out of nothing: Building new IP from the ground up
  • Ability to guide and steer different creative personalities towards a coherent vision.
  • Delicate understanding of when collaboration means aligning towards a singular vision vs unleashing the creativity of the team.
  • Superb interpersonal skills in handling disagreements that are highly creative & emotional in nature and turning them into productive creative relationships
  • World-class communication skills, not only able to explain your own ideas and reasoning in crystal clear language, but able to listen and help others distill their own thinking and creative intentions

Bonuses:

  • Experience directing dialog/cutscenes

The base annual salary range for this position in the United States is $110,000 - 215,000 USD. The base salary is just one part of the overall compensation package. SEMC also offers a package of benefits, including, healthcare coverage, unlimited PTO, a remote work environment, flex working schedule, parental leave support, 100% 401k match on the first 3% of your contribution, and paid local hangout meals and events. This base pay range is for the United States only and does not apply to international locations. The range for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
