Position at Creative Assembly

Creative Assembly is looking for an Associate PR Manager to bring the stories of our award-winning Total War releases to a global audience of press and players. This role will be based at our headquarters in Horsham, in the heart of West Sussex.

Working alongside the Senior PR Manager, you will develop and distribute key communications materials tailored to meet the objectives of global marketing plans. This can include writing press-facing briefings and guides, assisting with the coordination of global events, supporting spokespeople in telling their stories, and much more.

The right person for this role will be passionate about games, bringing an insatiable curiosity for how they’re made and how they forge connections with their audiences. You will be a natural storyteller with excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven experience writing for a range of audiences and objectives.

Flexible working at Creative Assembly includes hybrid, fully remote within country of employment for eligible roles, and in-studio. We recognise that there is no one-size-fits-all approach and empower our teams to define the working patterns which work best for them, which may mean different things for different teams and roles and at different times.

This role is Hybrid and has an expectation of one day per month in our Horsham studio. This role cannot offer fully remote working. Further details can be discussed during the recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities

Working on a varied roster of releases, you’ll collaborate directly with teammates responsible for every aspect of developing and bringing a AAA game to market. This is an exciting opportunity to further your career in the games industry as part of an established team with many opportunities for mentorship and growth.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Identify and execute on PR opportunities from start to finish, creating press materials, tracking our coverage, and reporting results to the wider team
  • Contribute to long-term campaign strategies, tailoring our PR approach to create the best window of opportunity for each of our upcoming releases
  • Assist in the organisation and delivery of global events, ensuring a strong representation for our titles and a high-value experience for our press partners
  • Provide communications expertise to teammates across many disciplines, maintaining alignment in how we talk about our projects
  • Collaborate closely with developers (and play our games) to maintain a deep understanding of our projects and their position within the wider strategy genre.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential
  • Experience in a relevant field such as PR, journalism, or marketing
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in various formats
  • Ability to tailor tone and approach to reach different audiences
  • Proven organisational skills and the ability to self-manage
  • Up-to-date understanding of the video games industry
  • Willingness and availability to travel.
Desirable
  • Experience in client, stakeholder, or project management
  • Familiarity with video games press, promotion, and event cycles
  • Understanding of influencer and/or community management
  • Knowledge of the strategy gaming genre and/or Warhammer IP
  • Open mind and an appetite to learn.
