Summary:
As the Art Director, you will be accountable for overseeing and elevating the quality of all visual elements in the game. You will also lead a talented team of artists, guiding them to achieve a unified vision while staying within the project's technical limitations.
Responsibilities:
·Manage a team of artists creating 2D, 3D, and VFX assets.
·Define and maintain the artistic vision for the project, aligning it with the overall creative direction.
·Ensure a consistent and high-quality output by establishing clear production benchmarks for the art team.
·Contribute to the creation of 2D and 3D art, balancing creative vision with production realities.
·Collaborate with Technical Artists and leads to develop efficient pipelines and metrics to meet both artistic and technical goals.
·Review and provide constructive feedback on the work of the art team.
·Serve as a mentor and role model, fostering a creative and enthusiastic work environment.
·Stay current with latest advances in game art techniques and technology.
·Play an active role in the recruitment process, including interviewing and recommending new hires.
Qualifications:
·Diploma/Degree in 2D/3D art, video game development, or equivalent training/experience.
·Minimum of 6 years of game art creation experience, with at least 2 years at a senior level.
·1 shipped game under your belt.
· Experience in the full development cycle of a published game, particularly a AAA console title.
·Expertise in 2D and concept art.
·In-depth understanding of game engines and artistic pipelines.
·Proficiency in 3DSMax, ZBrush, and Substance Painter.
·Knowledge of fundamental art theory, including color, light, composition, and anatomy.
·A team player with the ability to adapt to change.
·A motivator and generator of new ideas.
·Organized with strong coaching and leadership skills.
·Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written.
